Planning for an upcoming holiday is nothing short of exciting — there are a lot of things that you can do to make sure that your upcoming trip is not only a safe one, but an enjoyable one. After all, if you aren’t going to have a good time then you might as well skip the trip entirely because you’re just going to end up wasting your money. On the other hand if you prepare carefully the possibilities are truly endless.

One subject that seems to be on a lot of people’s minds is ordering travel money that they have to take with them. That makes sense — you can’t accomplish anything if you don’t have the proper travel money to get things done with. You’ll end up either paying too much or even worse — not being able to pay anything at all. If you’re thinking about completing your holiday plans the right way, you must start by ensuring that you have the right currency before you even land in the host country where you’ll be visiting.

Some people ignore the currency conversion needs they’ll have on vacation because they assume that their currency will be accepted anywhere they go. This might be true in a few countries, but you can probably expect to pay a little more than if you had the country’s native currency. Wouldn’t you rather get the problem taken care of before you even leave?

Not all travel money is created equal, because currency never really runs in a 1:1 ratio. This means that currency conversion isn’t just something that’s nice to have — it’s downright necessary, for all of the reasons we stated previously.

Of course, you shouldn’t just get your currency exchange needs handled anywhere — that would be just as bad as arriving in the country without enough money to do business properly. With so many scams going around relative to currency conversion circles, you have to be on alert and vigilant. Otherwise, you’ll end up without any money at all to spend — what would be the point of that?

In the past, you had to go out to a kiosk where you basically had to wait in line with everyone else. This can really eat into your vacation time when you would rather be going on to your flight, or checking out the city that you just traveled to. Why would you want to put yourself through that when they make cash passports now?

You can change your money over from the comfort of your own home now, but there are still those convenient kiosks in case you run out of time before you’re scheduled to depart.

Either way, the time is right to get travel money on your terms — why wouldn’t you want to get started today?

Figuring out what to pack and how to pack it is one of the greatest challenges that most travelers face when getting ready for their vacation. The mistake that many new travelers make when getting ready for vacation is that they pack far too many items to actually have a very enjoyable vacation. The better approach is to learn how to pack less for your next trip so that you can worry less about the items in your suitcase and more about enjoying the best vacation possible!

First, you will want to keep in mind the unique details of your actual travel location. Unless you’re going to a remote location, you should be able to purchase most of what you really need once you arrive at your travel destination. This means that you will only have to pack the essential items that you will need immediately the night that you arrive at your destination. Packing a light layer of clothing and having to pick up a few pieces is far better than trying to pack and later keep track of three suitcases worth of clothing and other items.

Next, you will want to stop and think about what you actually need to take with you. For example, packing clothes that really put you in the vacation mood is one thing, but you don’t need 12 sets of clothing when you know you’ll want to buy some local fashion to take back home with you.

Finally, you will want to buy a smaller suitcase than you would normally travel with. It can be tempting to actually stop and get an oversized luggage, but you will only end up testing the weight limit allowed to be taken on the plane, which can result in higher fees just to take a lot of items that you will end up never using. In addition, some items can’t actually be taken with you on the plane and would have to be thrown away if they are too big. While it’s true that you can arrange for items to be shipped back home for you, you don’t want to have to deal with that sort of thing when you’re getting trying to board a plane on time for your vacation!

All things considered, packing less for your trip isn’t difficult at all. What it really requires is approaching the problem in a logical fashion and making good decisions. If you take the tips here to heart, you should have no problem packing less and enjoying your vacation a whole lot more!

Flying with Children Doesn’t Have to Be Stressful. If you’re flying with children, you should prepare carefully. Holidays should be restful!

Planning a flight with children

The start of the holiday. Long drives or road journeys are stress for anyone. Should we go by plane instead? From what age can a child fly? What problems can arise and can be avoided? The prevention of problems caused by flying with children starts with your flight reservation. A healthy baby may fly from an age of eight days. Babies are placed with the mother in the first row where a special cot is attached in front. Although toddlers can travel for free, sitting on a parent’s lap, up to the age of 2 years old, toddlers should have their own seat if it is a long flight. This saves stress for everyone!

Pressure balance in the ear by chewing or gulping

The first hurdle when flying with children is the problem of the drop in pressure in the cabin. In addition, the air in the middle air expands and presses of the eardrum causing pain. Children start to cry (understandably!) and this can further create unpleasantness for other passengers. Crying is the right thing to do though, even if it annoys other people, because in crying, the child begins to gulp and the pressure can be compensated. A tube in the ear which connects the pharynx space with the middle ear is opened when gulping or chewing. You can also hold your nose and blow to “pop” your ears and restore the pressure balance. Landing can also be an unpleasant experience for some. The pressure in the cabin rises slowly again, but in the middle ear it is still low. The eardrum can now be crushed inwards, causing pain even for adults if the balance is not redressed.

Take off and landing made easy

Here are a few tricks to avoid such inconveniences when flying with children. At take off and landing, your child should be awake because the pressure balance in the ear can only be corrected when awake. Sucking a dummy or breastfeeding can help your little ones to open up the ear ways. Chewing gum or sipping a drink can also help older children (perhaps a chewable sickness tablet to also avoid travel sickness). This also has the effect of distracting the child so that they do not become worried, especially if you are flying with children for the first time. If the mucous membranes are swollen by a cold or allergies, give a dose of nasal spray or decongestant 30 minutes before landing and take off. During the flight, saline water can moisten a dry nose.

Using homeopathy whilst traveling

Homeopathy using Cocculus D4 and Tabaccum D6 can help to prevent your child from feeling travel sick or actually vomiting. Both tissue salts No. 7 (magnesium phosphoricum D6) and No. 9 (sodium phosphoricum D6) can be given alternately as an additional preventive against acute discomfort. If they feel travel sick, give them No. 7 every quarter of an hour, and No. 9 if they are vomiting.

Lastly, an unusual remedy. If flying with children, ask the stewardess for two mugs full of warm cloths. Put these over the child’s ears. This warms the air in the auditory canals behind the eardrum and causes the pressure to drop. Can this really soothe a bothered child? Try it.

More tips about flying with children

Take some small packages of food, since children are often not hungry at the meal times set by the airline. Moreover, some do not like the meals that are offered to them. Unfortunately, with current regulations, you cannot take much liquid on board, so make sure the child has had plenty to drink before checking in so that they do not get thirsty as soon as they are on the plane.
